Alco was made aware of the need for lower axle loadings for branch line service. This resulted in the RSC-2, with A-1-A trucks. In 1946, the first 1,500-hp road switcher (an RSC-2) was delivered to the Milwaukee Road. Alco went on to build some 87 of these branch line locos to both North American and foreign roads between 1946 and 1950.

The Division Point and Ajin Precision will offer the RSC-2 in various roads and paint schemes. Contact your dealer to reserve yours!
