BALTIMORE & OHIO
LIGHTWEIGHT STREAMLINED CARS
for the Capital Limited, Columbian and others

After World War II, all the railroads were mightily optimistic about passenger transportation. One of the new passenger trains considered by the B&O was an all new Capital Liminted, reconceived as a lightweight steamlined overnighter between Chicago and Washington. Consequently, an order was placed with Pullman-Standard for new cars. The huge post-war backlog of orders delayed delivery until 1949, but the result was modern lightweight streamliners, including dome sleepers and coaches! The Columbian was an all-coach between Washington and Chicago.

These cars will be on the B&O's well-known blue and gold. For our selections today, we will offer sets and a limited selection of individual cars, all of the usual Division Point quality and detail.

Well, we are working diligently; tenatively . . . we will offer the Capitol Limited in two 5-car sets, the Columbian in a 5-car set, and possibly a 4-5-car set of the Ambassador. Your comments and requests will help! E-mail to webmaster@divisionpoint.com. More to follow . . . stay tuned!
