From 1920 to 1929, the Rock Island aquired some 60 Mountain-type locomotives, all with 74-inch drivers. Capable of pulling up to 19 heavyweight cars, these workhorses answered the Rock Island's need for heavy passenger power. Between 1941 and 1944, engines 4047 through 4061 were modernized, and these are the locomotives the Division Point will produce for this project
The Division Point and Boo-Rim will offer this LIMITED EDITION project in different numbers. With only 120 pieces to be produced, you are well advised to contact your dealer to reserve yours!
NOVEMBER 26: BIG thanks to Bill Raia for reviewing the pilot models shown below. Bill found some piping, handrail, and appliance
errors which have been corrected. Also, the smokebox has been shortened to match the correct erection drawings. Please note that these M-50-A has been re-scheduled
for December delivery.
DECEMBER 6, 2007: It turns out, that we've a lack of details for the CRI&P #4056; it is also atypical of this group in that it lacked a
an interesting feedwater heater. As a result, we are substituting #4054 for this version. It will have the new model number DP-7233.4054, to
avoid confusion.
Here's our final selections:
