Passenger Cars |
As D&H fans know only too well, the D&H terminated all local passenger trains north of Albany in 1960. This left
only the LAURENTIAN and the MONTREAL LIMITED, the day and night trains between New York City (Rensselaer Station) and Montreal. The Montreal
Expo caused an increase in passenger traffic in 1967 and 1968, and the D&H management saw the need for upgraded cars. To fill the gap, cars
were both leased from various roads and purchased second-hand from the Rio Grande and Erie-Lackawanna.
Division Point will be producing the cars purchased from the Rio Grande in the D&H blue-and-yellow "lightning stripe" scheme. This will match the D&H (ex-B&M) RS-3s numbers 1508 & 1536 we will be producing later this year. Later power were the PA-4s.
Our offering will be done as individual cars. Contact your Division Point dealer ASAP!
June 15, 2009: Production Samples arrive; shipping week of 20th.
