Diesel Locomotives |
As the U25B demonstrators toured the country in 1961 and 1962, some railroads expressed interest in a 6-axle version of G.E.'s new locomotive. General Electric responded with the U25C in September of 1963. Four foot longer than the 4-axle version, the U25C rode on six-wheel, double-equalized trimount trucks. Unusually, the first units went to a construction company rather than to a railroad. Built from September 1963 through December 1965, 113 units were sold to seven different customers.
Division Point will produce models of all customers, as well as those acquired by other railroads due to mergers or secondary sale. Contact your dealer to reserve yours!
