Diesel Locomotives |
As an interim step during the great locomotive horsepower race of the 1960s, General Electric introduced the U28B. Rated at 2,800-hp, the U28s initially shared the U25 carbody, but engineering advances and equipment changes necessitated carbody changes. Eventually, the sloped long nose became the "Pug" nose. Only built during 1966, 148 units were sold to nine customers. The U28 carbody set the G.E. "look" for the balance of U-boat and Dash 7 products.
Division Point will produce models of all customers, as well as those acquired by other railroads due to mergers or secondary sale. Contact your dealer to reserve yours!
