Steam Locomotive Mallet Reserved Out! |

NORFOLK & WESTERN Y-2a
2-8-8-2 MALLETS |
 |
As a companion to our N&W Y-6 project, the Division Point and our premier steam builder
Boo-Rim Precision will bring you these long awaited heavy pusher engines that were so
common in the backwoods of Virginia. The N&W originally built these monsters in 1917, just before the USRA
took over the railroads for WWI. We will bring you the Y-2 and the Y-2a of the N&W, although there were very
few cosmetic differences between the two. We will also offer the two locomotives sold to the Bingham & Garfield
copper mine (Later Kennecott Copper) for heavy mining service and the Y-2s purchased by the Rio Grande
[JUMP].
| As usual, we are indebted to those folks who publish the information and photos we need. We urge you to buy their books and photos. |
