1100 Series Wood Caboose:The "1100" series (actually 01120-01199) were similar cars built from 1913 through 1928. Contructed both by the the Burnham shops and by outside shops (such as Haskell & Barker Car Co., the cabooses were built on a steel underframe with a wood superstructure, riding on Arch Bar trucks. In the late 1930s/early 1940s, the trucks were bebuilt with cast-steel side frames due to interchange service requirements.

1400 Series Steel Cabooses were a series of 91 built from 1940 through 1959. Though they were built in both riveted and welded versions, we're concentrating on the riveted versions, Nos. 1400-1469. As time passed, many of the these cabooses were "modernized", mostly evidenced by installing "plug window kits" (flush glass and rubber gaskets) and electrical devices.
