NICKEL PLATE/LAKE ERIE & WESTERN |
To accompany our Nickel Plate "Berk"s coming out this fall, Division Point will build a "gaggle" of NPR cabooses! We start with the venerable "1000" Series 30' wood caboose, the "Alpha and Omega" of the Nickel Plate Road. Building started in the 1880's and continued through 1920. These veterans lasted almost to 1970, and some were painted and lettered for the N&W in blue! We will also produce the "kissin' cousin" from the Lake Erie & Western, the #46-147 Series 30' class, and include the #99 (3 window) and #100 (2 window) versions. To round off our offering, the LE&W 26' center and Offset Cupola wood cab's will also be done. These never before modeled "shorties" will be done with the standard 2 window pattern, and the #112 with different window spacing.
For all of our offerings, both the early paint job, and the "Speed Lettering" will be offered. Quantities will be limited, and versions will be done based on orders, so look over the excellent photos below from the NPRH&TS Magazine's Summer 1985 issue, or the reprint of George Berhoff's excellent article in Cabooses of the Nickel Plate. Happy Nickel Plate Daze from The Division Point!
