Westside Models “Freelance Series” of what an “American Garratt” would have looked like. Beyer-Garratt actually pitched their steam engines to the Rio Grande for the narrow gauge operations, as it was ideally suited to the sharp curves and grades of the D&RG’s narrow gauge. They chose to rebuild older standard gauge 2-8-0’s in to the K-37 models. Made by Nakamura of Japan. Neat piece, and very rare!
